The world has gone a bit vegan crazy over the last few years. The number of vegans in the UK has risen by 350 per cent in the past decade. And did you know 42 per cent of those are aged between 15 and 34?
There are many reasons why people decide to try a vegan diet, including a love of animals, the environment or making improvements to their health and nutrition. But whether you’re an experienced vegan or are trying it out for the first time, Birmingham is full of amazing restaurants that have heaps of yummy vegan dishes.

Here’s our guide to eight vegan food spots in Birmingham
1) The Warehouse Café
This hip eco-veggie restaurant in Digbeth is a local favourite and its fresh seasonal ingredients make it easy to see why it’s so popular. The dessert menu is also vegan, so treat yourself!
2) Cherry Reds café bar
Get yourself an all-day vegan breakfast at Cherry Reds. For just over £6 you can tuck into Linda McCartney sausage, deep fried tofu, beans, mushrooms, two buttered granary toast, vegan spread, cherry tomatoes and hash browns!
3) Vietnamese Street Kitchen
This family-owned Vietnamese restaurant has its own separate vegan menu where you'll find everything from spicy 'chicken' wings, spring rolls, bao buns and pho. It's handy location, right in the Bullring, makes it our favourite stop for some post-shopping munch.
4) Land
An up-market option for a treat meal for vegetarians and vegans alike, Land is found in the Great Western Arcade and covers everything from a la carte to tasting menus. Perfect for a special occasion, plant-based style!
5) Ba-Ha at The Rainbow
Ba-Ha have really made a name for themselves on the Birmingham vegan scene, serving up innovative, homemade vegan food is what they do best. Currently, they're based in The Rainbow, a cosy pub in Digbeth - we couldn't think of anywhere better to tuck into a comforting, hearty meal.
6) The Vegan Kitchen
Located in the gorgeous Great Western Arcade is The Vegan Kitchen, which is well-known for bringing vegan junk food to Brum.
7) Jungle Bird
Just a stones throw away from New Street Station is Jungle Bird, a tropical cocktail bar and resturant that will make you forget you're in Brum and that you're eating vegan food!
8) Café Soya
Birmingham's China town is a great spot to hunt down vegan food, with lots of restaurants having a separate vegan menu, but our favourite has to be Café Soya. A small, casual Chinese café that is 100% worth the queue that sometimes gathers outside.
