The best pizza places in Birmingham

February 9 marks one of the most important days for many students far and wide, its National Pizza Day! The best way to celebrate this momentous occasion would be to obviously eat some pizza, so we've recommended our favourite places to visit in Birmingham.

1. Baked in Brick

How about eating a pizza which has been made in a Great British motor? Well, the folks over at Baked in Brick have made that possible. The restaurant was initially formed in a garage when the founder converted his classic Mini and married it with a wood oven in the back and a BBQ under the bonnet.

As well as having the chance to boast about how your pizza was made, you also get to tuck into a flavoursome and appetising feast!

2. The Stable

If pizza and cider is your thing then The Stable is a must go! The popular restaurant in Birmingham City Centre specialises in pizza, pies and cider - arguably the three most important food groups. The menu features Birmingham themed pizzas such as ‘The Bournville Bantam’ and ‘The Smethwick Scorcher’.

The Stable is a great choice when going with a group friends too as they also offer a gluten-free menu and a vegan menu!

3. Rudy's

Nothing beats an authentic Neopolitan pizza, and Rudy's offers just that. Head to this traditional pizza joint on Bennetts Hill for a relaxed atmosphere and impressive pizza selection. To compliment your carb load, you'll find an extensive menu of classic Italian apperetifs and desserts. Not feeling going out? You can also order a Rudy's to your door!

4. Otto

With three venues accross the city, Otto looks set to take on Dominos. Using the finest locally sourced ingredients, Otto's woodfired pizzas are some of the best.

5. Laghi's Deli

A firm favourite of Brummie food bloggers, Laghi's Deli is an award-winning restaurant near Five Ways. They've got a great menu of contemporary Italian dishes but the pizzas are our favourite. And if you visit on a Sunday, it's just £18 for all the delicious pizza you can eat!

6. Poli Kings Heath

Offering a menu of your usual suspects - think pepperoni, ham and pineapple and margherita - plus everchanging decadent specials, Poli is the place to go for some woodfired wonder in the south of the city.

7. Eagle & Ball

Don’t fancy going far? Take a trip to our very own BCUSU pub which offers delicious pizza at some great prices. With loads of vegetarian and meat-topped pizzas to choose from, you’ll be spoilt for choice. You can even get £1 off if you’re a BCU student (with ID).

Even our very own Lenny Henry has enjoyed a pizza in there on his lunch break!
