Ever wanted to watch a musical on the side of a castle or watch an Oscar winning war film in the middle of the UK’s centre of remembrance? Luna are bringing their open air cinema screenings to Warwick Castle and the National Memorial Arboretum this summer. Both venues are 30 minutes outside of the centre of Brum and will definitely be worth the short trip.
Warwick will be hosting screenings of The Greatest Showman, Pretty Woman and The Chamber of Secrets (magical…) whilst the Arboretum will screen Pretty Woman and Darkest Hour. A good spread for everyone. On a warm summer evening this is an event not to be missed.

2) Cricket at Edgbaston
When: England v Australia – 27 June. England v India – 1-5 August.
How much: £18 - £70
It’s a huge summer of cricket in Birmingham as two of the best teams in the world visit Edgbaston. First the Aussies role into town, to take on England in a Twenty20. Before India visit for a test match at the start of August.
England will be looking to prove themselves against their arch rivals, throw in the summer sun and the Edgbaston atmosphere, it will be a highlight of Brum’s summer calendar.

3) Try one of the amazing new restaurants
A Cuban bar, A Head of Steam and a new location to the magical Wilderness restaurant are among the amazing new food and drink venues heading to Birmingham this year, and that's just the ones we know about now!
Kong's Gaming Bar is also rumored to be joining the Birmingham's repertoire this year, featuring classic arcade games, table foosball and ping pong along with a great selection of drinks and, judging by existing venues, a pop-up kitchen.

4) Dine with Dippy
When: 26 May - 9 September
Where: Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery
How much: Free entry
You don't have to go all the way to London to see Dippy the Diplodocus, long time resident of the Natural History Museum, because he's visiting us in Birmingham from May to September 18. He'll be standing proud in the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery's Edwardian Tea Rooms, so you can actually dine with Dippy - lucky he's a vegetarian.
