What is an Offer Holder Day?

An Offer Holder Day is more in-depth than an Open Day and gives you a more tailored experience. You'll find out more about your course and hear about the student experience through taster sessions and opportunities to meet academic staff and current students. You will also have an opportunity to view our accommodation and chat to our support services.

If you have already been to an Open Day, this is your chance to explore your course and subject area in more detail and if not, you'll get an in-depth introduction to studying here.

What to expect on the day

Here are some of the things you'll be able to see and do during your Offer Holder Day:

Exquisite Bodies: Drawing with the body

This workshop will explore how artists use their bodies in the making of their work, whether that be through gestural mark making or performance. In the first part of the workshop, you will make experimental drawings with strange and wonderful rules and prompts. You will try drawing with awkward implements, with only a little bit of time and with physical constraints.

As an extra, you are welcome to bring a small range of your creative work from school or college, or personal work, to this session. Examples of what you could bring include:

  • A sketchbook
  • A digital portfolio on a tablet, laptop or phone
  • A physical piece of school or college work, such as drawings, paintings, 3D work etc.

Exquisite Bodies: Extending the body

For the second part of the workshop you will be challenged to think about performance in an expanded and potentially bodiless way. Responding to GIFs and TikToks, you will make exquisite corpse extensions or an inverted point of view of the videos you find. You don’t need to be in the videos yourself but use props, sounds and clips to contribute to extending or translating existing clips.
