Kevin Hoffin is currently the Level 4 co-year tutor with Melindy Brown.

He has previously taught at The University of Roehampton and Keele University before coming to Birmingham City University.

He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and gained his MA in Criminology & Criminal Justice, his PGCE and his BA in Law with Criminology at Keele University.

He is a cultural criminologist, with his main interests being crime representations in comics and superheroes. He also contributes to the growing discipline of black metal theory.

He is currently an active researcher in the ‘From Villain to Hero Initiative’ comic book project alongside Dr. Adam Lynes.

In 2018, he was shortlisted for The Dean’s Award ‘Lecturer of the Year’ for Criminology and The Dean’s Award for ‘Team Performance’ for his part on the organizational panel for the British Society of Criminology Conference.

In 2017, he was shortlisted for the ‘Excellence in Teaching’ Early Career Award at Keele University.
