Dr Tanisha Douglas is an expert in behavioural psychology, specialising in exploring how people cope with stressful experiences and the impact of these approaches on mental and physical health.

After completing her PhD at Swansea University, Tanisha trained as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner in Reading, where she applied Cognitive Behavioural Therapy informed interventions to treat depression and anxiety-related conditions.

Currently working at Birmingham City University, Tanisha is involved in teaching through which she applies the knowledge gained from her experiences to support the growth of future practitioners. Furthermore, Tanisha seeks to continue her research to further understand the mechanisms of coping with stressful life experiences with the aim to identifying strategies which improve health outcomes.
