Samantha Martin

Dr Samantha Martin (pronouns she/her) is a Lecturer in Psychology. She has a passion for teaching and research that empowers marginalized communities through the development of novel resources, interventions and practices.
 
Prior to joining Birmingham City University, her postdoctoral research at the University of Oxford developed online resources to support trans and gender diverse young people with healthcare. Her PhD research developed and evaluated QueerViBE: an online intervention to empower trans and non-binary youth using applied discourse analysis and interactive video tutorials.

She has a background in LGBTQ+ psychology, supporting victims of crime, psychotherapy and counselling, and trans youth work.
