Dr Tony Talburt
Dr Tony Talburt has over twenty years teaching experience and research interests in two main areas. The first is international trade and development in Africa and the Caribbean, and the second is African diaspora history.
He has lectured at four different universities in Ghana and the UK and is currently senior lecturer and course lead in Black Studies at Birmingham City University.
He is the author of seven books and several papers and book chapters in these two broad areas of specialisation. He was the project lead for the ‘Letters From Back A Yard Project’ which is a unique digital archive collection based on personal primary documents of Caribbean migrants to Britain during the period 1940 to 1989, launched in October 2023 at BCU.
