Elie Rambaud

ELie Rambaud

Elie works with the RAYSD lab as a researcher and PhD student. With a master's degree from INSEP (National Institute of Sport, Expertise and Performance), he quickly turned his attention to applied research in sports performance and data analysis. After completing his studies, he joined the Olympique Lyonnais Academy, where he started as an intern. In this role, he worked on various data-related projects, contributing to performance analysis, player monitoring and decision support within the club. Building on this experience, he continued his commitment to research by beginning a PhD in 2024 on the estimation of potential and trajectories at the Olympique Lyonnais Academy, with a particular interest in understanding and integrating the three ages (relative age, biological age, training age) in development. His thesis is part of an international and interdisciplinary collaboration. It is co-directed by two renowned laboratories: IRMES (Institute for Biomedical Research and Sports Epidemiology) at INSEP in Paris, and RAYSD (Research for Athlete and Youth Sport Development) Lab in Birmingham. Through this doctoral work, he aims to produce robust scientific knowledge that is directly transferable to performance environments, in close collaboration with stakeholders in high-level sport.
