Zakaria Senousy

Zakaria is a PhD Researcher at Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence Centre, School of Computing and Digital Technology. Zakaria’s Doctoral Research is mainly in the area of Medical Image semantic and instance segmentation using Deep Learning techniques.

His supervisors are Professor Mohamed Gaber and Doctor Mohamed Abdelsamea. Zakaria holds a Master of Science degree from Arab Academy for Science and Technology (AAST), Cairo, Egypt, where his work focused on developing a Class of Contention Manager Algorithms in Dynamic Software Transactional Memory (DSTM) in order to minimise wasted work and maximise throughput of Multi-core Systems. Also his work included providing Quality of Service guarantees for transactions using Contention Managers in DSTM.

Prior to his PhD Study, Zakaria has worked as Assistant Lecturer in Computer Engineering, AAST, for almost two years and, before that time, he was a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the same university for four years. During his time in academia, he gained experience preparing and delivering different courses in the area of Computer Science and Engineering as well as assessing students based on different examinations and course projects.
