Sarah-Jane Crowson

Sarah is a doctoral researcher investigating the space of small, specialist art colleges in higher education. She works in a small, specialist creative arts college in Herefordshire (Hereford College of Arts). She believes that working environments and spaces strongly influence our thinking, creativity and behaviour.

As an educator, Sarah's approach is non-hierarchical and she enjoys the challenge of facilitating unplanned ‘open’ educational spaces. She believes these types of spaces offer a better chance to imagine and dream up new possibilities. Joining up conversations and collaborative storytelling is an important part of her research, educational and creative practice. Sarah's creative practice is poetry, which she also uses in her teaching and research.
