Haitham Mahmoud

Haitham is a Marie Curie early stage researcher and a PhD student in the School of Engineering at Birmingham City University. He received his Master’s degree in communications from the Arab Academy for Science and Technology (AAST) and double Bachelor's degrees in electronics and communication engineering from Loughborough University and British University in Egypt (BUE), respectively.

He used to work as a demonstrator for four years at BUE to conduct tutorials in several modules specialised in communications and programming along with helping a few students in their graduation projects. Moreover, he used to work as a part time Research Assistant (RA) on a project funded by the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) in Egypt, entitled 'Heterogeneous Cloud-RAN Deployment Based on Hybrid FSO/mmW Fronthaul Transport Network for 5G Mobile Systems'. In addition, Haitham has been publishing and reviewing tens of prestigious scientific papers in journals (such as IEEE access, IEEE sensors and IETE Technical Review) and conference (IEEE proceedings) papers.
