I have been actively engaged within the gemstone and jewellery industry throughout my working career. I have founded a number of very successful SME’s that were established upon the development of both professional and technical innovations which were then recognised as the market leaders. Although entrepreneurism was an aspect of the companies’ successes the commitment to research and innovation was the defining attribute.

In the early 2000’s the Birmingham assay office approached me expressing a strong interest in acquiring two of my companies and in 2005 I completed their sale to BAO. At the time of completion, the companies were the market leaders both technologically and commercially with offices in the USA and UK.

I have acted as the leading expert witness in my field for over 25 years. I have an international reputation and I am regularly instructed by international companies to provide expert guidance and reports. The companies I have run have served major international clients. My professional reputation has been enhanced through my academic endeavours and published research. I have recently agreed to appear as a guest TV presenter for my knowledge and reputation as a gemmologist to be filmed I early 2016.
