Chris is an early career research fellow in history, heritage and archives. He has research interests in modern British and late imperial history, focusing in particular on the history of broadcasting and the press, de-colonisation, nuclear weapons and social movements. His first monograph, Peace and Power: Media, Movements and Democracy in Cold War Britain, explores the significance of the rise of television for ideas about participatory democracy in movements against nuclear weapons and the Vietnam War.
