Dr. Arantza Gomez Arana
Dr. Gomez Arana is a Senior Lecturer in International Relations at Northumbria University. She is also an elected committee member of UACES and a co-convenor of the BISA European Security Working Group. Arantza has conducted research on the European Union for over 15 years, her publications reflect her particular interest in External Relations and International Security.
Since 2016, Arantza's research and PhD supervision includes Brexit. She has presented and published in key aspects of the negotiations of the withdrawal agreement, and is currently working on publications that analyse further the impact of Brexit on UK-EU relations in the area of internal and external security, as well as the impact on Gibraltar and Spain.

Research
Arantza is currently writing two books. The first book is a single authored monograph on “Brexit and Gibraltar”. This book is part of the Brexit Studies Series developed by the Centre for Brexit Studies at BCU: https://www.bcu.ac.uk/centre-for-brexit-studies
The second book is an edited volume co-edited with Dr. Maria Garcia (Bath University) on “European Union Relations with Latin America” for Manchester University Press.
