Join us to celebrate the launch of ‘Gender and Equality: 40 years on’, an exhibition which explores women’s equality, with specific attention to Birmingham based initiatives from the 1980s. The exhibition features work by photographer Rhonda Wilson, from the ‘Worth Paying For’ campaign (1986), leaflets and programmes from the Women Celebrate Festival, magazines and newspaper cuttings from the period, and other materials drawn from the Barbara Webster Collection.

The exhibition is curated by Dr Annette Naudin, lead researcher for the ‘Gender and Equality: 40 years on’ project which is funded by the British Academy/Leverhulme Small Grant Scheme. The exhibition was developed in partnership with Dr Pedro Cravinho, Senior Research Fellow, Art, Design and Media Archives, Birmingham City University.
