Dr Ilaria Di Gioia, a Senior Lecturer in Law and associate Director for the Centre of American Legal Studies at BCU, has been selected to be part of the selection committee for the American Politics Group (APG) Neustadt Book Prize.
The Centre for American Legal Studies (CALS) is involved in major activities involving American studies in the UK. Dr Di Gioia’s participation to the selection committee demonstrates that CALS is at the cutting edge of research in American studies.
APG Neustadt Book Prize
APG Neustadt Book Prize is a well established top prize in the UK devoted to publications on US politics. In recognition of the valuable contribution made over the years to APG’s work by colleagues in other European countries, eligibility includes authors based at any University in Europe. The American Politics Group awards £500 each year to the best book on American politics published by a European scholar.
The selection committee is composed of three members in total. Dr. Di Gioia will be joining leading experts Dr. Tom Packer and Dr. Steven Hurst and will remain part of the panel for three years. Their main role will be reading several books in American politics and selecting the best among them.
Dr. Di Gioia says:
“The Neustadt Book prize is a celebration of American studies in the UK and it is a pleasure to be part of the awarding committee and to work with excellent colleagues across the UK.”
