Mr. Sami is a PhD scholar in the Department of Accounting, Finance and Economics at Birmingham City University. His research interests encompass a broad spectrum of topics within finance and economics, including financial markets, sustainable finance, financial economics, econometrics, computational economics, and energy finance. In addition to his doctoral studies, Mr. Sami contributes to academia as a visiting lecturer, where he is actively involved in teaching and mentoring students.

Mr. Sami is a dedicated and active researcher who collaborates with scholars worldwide and regularly publishes in reputable peer-reviewed journals across the fields of economics and finance. His recent work focuses on the impact of shadow economic activities on the financial sector, with a particular emphasis on how informality can influence financial development, economic stability, and environmental outcomes. He has also explored the role of financial technology (FinTech) and country risk factors in driving or mitigating financial instability, contributing to important policy-relevant debates in the current global financial landscape.

His ongoing doctoral research aims to estimate and forecast the impact of informality on green development, integrating environmental sustainability into financial discourse. Mr. Sami's methodological expertise includes the use of advanced econometric modelling, machine learning, and deep learning techniques, enabling him to generate robust and forward-looking insights from complex datasets.

Prior to beginning his PhD, Mr. Sami worked as an Assistant Finance Manager in a leading textile manufacturing company, where he oversaw functions related to costing, sales tax, and inventory management. This industry experience has provided him with valuable practical insight into financial operations and decision-making in emerging market contexts.

He holds both an MBA in Finance and an MA in Economics, each awarded with distinction, reflecting his strong academic foundation. Mr. Sami has presented his research at numerous international conferences, sharing his findings with academic and professional communities across the globe. He also actively contributes to the research as a reviewer and editorial board member for several academic journals. Furthermore, he is an active member of the Academy of International Business, through which he maintains close engagement with global networks of researchers and practitioners.
