A graduate-duo who have carved a successful name for themselves in the advertising industry are to be honoured at a University graduation ceremony next week.
Leon Ostle and Dan Griffiths, having met while studying, graduated from Birmingham City University in 2000 with a degree in Visual Communication, and have since gone on to become two of the most sought-after advertising designers in London.
The talented pair began their careers as part of the founding team at agency Glue, successfully managing and developing the design department whilst helping to grow the agency from a team of 8, to over 150 people spanning the globe.
Dan Griffiths said: "It came as a huge surprise to be told we had won this award. We're both very fond of our time at Birmingham City University and were lucky enough to have tutors who really had a big impact on our careers, so it's a proud moment to be recognised by both the University and by them."
Leon and Dan boast of a long list high-profile clients, having been creative leads on accounts for companies including Bacardi, Nokia, Adidas, Coca-Cola, Toyota, Green Party, Kellogg's, and Channel.
In July 2013, the pair made the decision to strike out on their own, setting up a London-based design and creative studio - Crew Studio Ltd. Since starting up their own agency the team have already worked on some large scale projects for V Festival, Rogue Films, Google, and most recently Nissan.
Dan and Leon will be honoured on Monday 1 September as one of the University’s Alumni of the Year in the 'Enterprise and Innovation' category.
