Bob Jones, the new Police and Crime Commissioner for the West Midlands, recently gave an exclusive talk to our students, giving them a real insight into the careers that their courses can lead to.

Bob has the demanding task of ensuring the West Midlands has an efficient and effective police force, which involves setting priorities, deciding and allocating the budget, and holding the Chief Constable to account. During the talk, Bob reiterated that he is passionate about increasing confidence and trust in the police and giving the public a voice at the highest level.

Our students benefit from guest lectures such as this by receiving first hand insights from industry professionals. Imran Awan, Senior Lecturer in Criminology, said: "We thank Bob for interacting with our students in a very open and honest manner; by welcoming their questions he enabled them to engage in discussion with him about issues which are important to them."
