A Senior Lecturer at Birmingham City University’s Faculty of Health is celebrating the publication of her latest book, “Haematology Nursing.”
Tracey Cutler, Professional Navigator, compiled and edited the book alongside Macmillan Senior Lecturer in Haematology, Marvelle Brown. It took four years to compile and is aimed predominantly at nurses to be used as a comprehensive guide on the care and management of patients with haematological disorders.
Tracey explained: “Haematology is a fascinating field of clinical practice and is a highly dynamic and exciting area to work in. There is now a career progression to becoming a specialist nurse in both malignant and non-malignant haematology.
“This book plugs a significant gap, being the first in the UK to address both malignant and non-malignant haematology, making it a valuable resource for any nurse managing patients with a haematological condition.”
Tracey previously ran specialist degrees in Haematology, Cancer Care and modules in Chemotherapy at the University for over ten years, and her role has now developed into assisting practitioners in their on-going professional and academic development.
“Haematology Nursing”, published by leading publishers of scientific and technical information, Wiley-Blackwell, also includes chapter contributions from other Birmingham City University staff based at the Faculty of Health in Edgbaston, including Gwyneth Morgan, Dion Smyth, Samantha Toland and Alison Simons.
