‘It’s not too late to go to University this year’ is the message from Birmingham City University, with prospective students being urged to attend a dedicated Open Day later this week to find out more.

The event takes place on Saturday 23 February (9am to 3pm) at three of the University’s campuses – City North in Perry Barr, City South in Edgbaston and the City Centre Campus at Millennium Point. Visitors can check the location and register on our Open Day web page.

Lyn Holder, Head of Outreach and Enquiry Management, says: “Our Open Days are a great way for potential students to gain an understanding of what we do at the University, they are also a good opportunity for those local students who don’t want to go further afield to study to see what we have to offer.

“In response to how today’s students are now making their choices, we are now taking a more flexible approach to visitors who apply after the traditional 15 January deadline for the majority of our courses. As such we are really keen to meet visitors who want to join us this year.”At the heart of the Open Day will be a wide range of activities, exhibitions and presentations giving visitors the chance to meet staff and students. Guided tours of campuses will show off Birmingham City University’s facilities and on-site student accommodation.

“We really do urge interested students to come and see what Birmingham City University has to offer,” adds Lyn. “Birmingham City continues to be a University with pulling power, being ranked among the top five recruiters in the Million+group of post-1992 universities in a recent article in the THE Magazine.”

The University is still considering applications for all courses, although some of our more popular courses are filling up fast. Students can find more advice on late applications on the UCAS website.
