Councillor Raymond Hassall

Birmingham City University will be installing the new Lord Mayor of Birmingham Councillor Raymond Hassall, as the Chancellor of the University at a special ceremony taking place on Thursday 3 September at the Council House in Birmingham City Centre.

The event will also recognise the outstanding contribution made to the University by the outgoing Chancellor, Councillor Shah, during his term of office in 2014/15.

The installation of Councillor Hassall continues the tradition established in 1992 when the former Birmingham Polytechnic was granted University status and resolved to reflect its commitment to the City by installing the Lord Mayor as its Chancellor.
