Birmingham City University and Creative Networks are to host a free event exploring sound system design and the future possibilities for developments in the audio world.
Speaking at the event on Thursday 26 September will be Jim Cousins, founder of Sound Improvement Services, a sound system and acoustical consultancy offering over 25 years of expertise in installation and show services, as well as touring and event services.
Jim will be inviting discussion on current audio quality and questioning what developments we may see in the near future. Jim's previous roles have seen him working as an electronics engineer and designing theatre systems for the musicals 'Evita' and 'Cats'.
Frustrated that live sound system designs didn't seem to keep up with the audio fidelity of analogue mixing consoles, Jim later became a freelance consultant working on large scale outdoor events before setting up Sound Improvement Services in 2010.
Creative Networks brings together parties involved in screen and sound media in the West Midlands, promoting both successful business development and collaboration.
The event runs from 5.45pm until 8:45pm at Birmingham City University's City Centre Campus. To book your place phone: +44 (0)121 331 5400, email: Creative Networks, or register at Eventbrite or Creative Networks Online.
The event follows the Birmingham Music Network and the Birmingham Screen Image Network, taking place from 4pm until 5.30pm.
