Sir Lenny, who is Chancellor at Birmingham City University, will be providing an exclusive talk about his new memoir ‘Who Am I Again,’ which charts his early years and subsequent rise to fame.

The Dudley-born comic will officially start his national book tour on Sunday 20th October, with a live performance at Birmingham’s Hippodrome, but attendees at the event will get a unique sneak peek at the forthcoming content.

The event will take place between 11.30am and 1.00pm on Saturday 19th October at Birmingham City University’s Parkside Building (B4 7RJ).

Sir Lenny said: “I’m going to be coming to the Open Day on the 19th October, to see all the great stuff we have to offer.

“So that’s me, BCU and you together as one at the next Birmingham City University Open Day, I can’t wait to see you there.”

During the Open Day, Sir Lenny will be welcoming visitors to the University’s campus and signing in some attendees at the check-in desk.

He will also join the Vice Chancellor’s Welcome Talk, and visit a selection of courses across both campuses.

Sir Lenny was named Chancellor at the University in 2016 citing a desire to give back to the younger generation and expand university access to disadvantaged communities.

Tickets for the talk are available for £10, and include a heavily discounted copy of the book.

Bookings can be made by visiting Eventbrite and searching for ‘Sir Lenny Henry Book Signing’.

There are limited tickets available for this event, and booking is essential.

The University’s Open Day will feature opportunities for visitors to hear from academics from a range of courses and explore the facilities across the campuses. The Open Day will run from 9am until 3pm.
