Gisela Stuart, MP for Edgbaston in Birmingham, will be visiting Birmingham City University this afternoon – to see first-hand how the University prepares ‘career-ready’ graduates.

Gisela will be visiting the Faculty of Technology, Engineering and the Environment (TEE), and will be shown the specialist labs supported by CISCO Systems, one of the world’s biggest technology companies which recruits graduates directly from Birmingham City University.

The facilities are part of the CISCO Network Academy and an example of how the University prepares its students for the real world of work. Gisela will be shown round by Executive Dean Professor Melvyn Lees and Associate Dean Dr Peter Rayson.

“We welcome Gisela Stuart to the faculty and look forward to showing her how the University works closely with industry to prepare its graduates with the skills employers really want,” said Dr Rayson.
