To demonstrate a clear commitment to delivering an excellent student experience Birmingham City University and Birmingham City Students’ Union have teamed up to produce a formal Partnership Agreement.

The Partnership Agreement is a landmark document as it defines how the University and its Student Union can work together to create a learning community in which all stakeholders can take real pride.

The agreement also extends beyond improving the learning experience - it also includes developing partnerships with employers to support graduate employability and maintaining a proactive relationship with students even after they have left the University.

Published in a digital format featuring ‘talking head’ videos of people who have first-hand experience of partnership in action the agreement is very accessible and articulates a clear vision.

Outlining what students can expect

Vice-Chancellor Professor David Tidmarsh said: “Our aim at Birmingham City University is to create an open, inclusive culture where staff and students jointly contribute to the pursuit of learning.

“We recognise and promote equality of opportunity for all students. We see our relationship with our students as a mutually beneficial partnership, one which will last throughout their time at Birmingham City University.”

“This Student Partnership agreement sets out, across six general areas, what students can expect from life at Birmingham City University, what we can offer - and what students can contribute to ensure they get the most from their university experience.
