Birmingham Alabama meets Birmingham UK this week in a creative collision set to bring the City together through art.
American Artists, Jocelyn Zanzot and Daniel Neil from the University of Auburn, Alabama, will be hosting a number of mobile drawing workshops in Witton, Birmingham this week. They are hoping that the temporary studios will allow them to work directly with the local community to interpret and re-imagine their local area through the creation of art.
The four-day event programme began yesterday (Wednesday 25 September) with a lecture held at Birmingham City University's newly completed Parkside building - home of the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design. The free talk discussed Jocelyn and Daniel's practice - Mobile Studio: Design on the road and in the field.
Supported by students from Birmingham City University, the mobile drawing studios are open to the public this Thursday and Friday and offer the perfect opportunity to get involved with various creative activities, whether it be drawing or painting, or simply to meet fellow like-minded people from the community.
