Students and graduates from Birmingham Conservatoire are to transport music fans from Hogwarts to a galaxy far away next week, as they bring film scores to life with a live symphony orchestra.

‘Conservatoire Pops at the Movies’ takes place on Friday 24 April and will see the iconic musical works of all-time favourite film score composers being performed, including Hans Zimmer’s 'The Battle' from 'Gladiator' and James Horner’s 'I See You' from 'Avatar'.

Friday 24 April @ 6pm, Conservatoire’s Adrian Boult Hall
Tickets available on the door: £6.50 (£4 concessions)

Music Technology student Ben Weatherill will premiere a new musical work inspired by Celtic folk music and featured in upcoming movie Sanctuary, being filmed this Summer.

Other performances on the night include Michael Giancchino’s 'Star Trek into the Darkness' and Patrick Doyle’s 'Hogwarts Hymn' from 'Harry Potter: Goblet of Fire'.
