University hosts public talk with blogging sensation Lily Pebbles

Award-winning Youtuber, lifestyle blogger and author Lily Pebbles returns to Birmingham City University on Wednesday 14 March to discuss the launch of her first ever book.

29-year-old Lily, a Birmingham City University graduate, will be returning to the lecture halls to talk about her life as a digital superstar and how she’s found time to write - ‘F Word’.

Lily has turned her talents and hard work to produce ‘The F Word’, a personal celebration of female friendships.

It offers advice and inspiration to women of all ages on how to develop and maintain strong positive relationships with women around them.

During the free City Talks event on 14 March, Lily will also look back over her successful career, offering tips for budding writers and exploring what’s next for this online sensation.

Lily said:

“I am so excited to be coming back to BCU to be talking about my first book, The F Word.

“This whole journey started at University when I was encouraged to start a blog by my lecturer, so it feels really special to be sharing this experience in the same year as being chosen as Alumni of the Year.

“I feel very proud to be a Birmingham City University graduate.”

Starting her blog as part of a Digital Marketing module, Lily graduated from Birmingham City University’s Business School with a Marketing, Advertising and PR degree eight years ago and in 2012 Lily decided to quit her marketing job working for a beauty box subscription company to focus on her blog full-time.

Lily has over 394,000 Instagram followers and 452,000 subscribers on YouTube, has collaborated with huge brands such as ASOS, Bobbi Brown, Revlon and Evian. In 2016, she won InStyle’s Project 13 Award for Best Beauty Blogger and recently, Lily has launched a new Podcast titled ‘At Home With…”

Lily will be in conversation with friend Rose Gallagher, Birmingham-based beauty blogger and founder of Mixed Gems.
