The director of Katie: My Beautiful Face, a documentary about a model and budding TV presenter whose face was disfigured in an acid attack will be giving a talk at the University.
BAFTA-winning director Jessie Versluys and assistant producer Kate Collier will be discussing the making of the documentary. They'll talk about how they worked with Katie to bring her incredibly moving story to the screen. From commissioning and production through to the editing process. Jessie will also offer indispensible advice to budding filmmakers on how to approach sensitive subjects for the screen.
The event will be interspersed with clips from the Channel Four Cutting Edge production Katie: My Beautiful Face, courtesy of Mentorn Media.
The talk will take place on Thursday 24 June as part of the regular Creative Networks series of networking events. It's being held at Millennium Point, starting at 6pm for registration and refreshments.
