A group of Japanese students are currently taking part in a month long summer school at Birmingham City University.
The 30 students from Joshibi University in Tokyo will be taking part in a series of art and design workshops including printing, three dimensional modelling, video animation, painting, drawing and English language at the University's Bournville campus. They will also take part on social and cultural visits to local landmarks and art galleries.
The end of the summer school will culminate in an exhibition of student art and design work in University Gallery, Bournville on Friday 28th August from 3pm until 5pm.
This is the sixth year students from Joshibi University have taken part in a summer school at Birmingham City University. Around 200 Japanese students in total have taken part in the summer school programme.
A workshop with Artist Nikki Pugh http://npugh.co.uk/ will be taking place on and around the Bournville Green on Monday 10th August at 3pm. The students will be engaged with an art project that will bring them into direct contact with the Bournville community.
