Honorary doctorates

Do you know someone who deserves to be honoured by the University for their work?

Why not nominate them for an honorary degree? Up to 12 honorary degrees will be conferred during the award ceremonies in September 2015 and January 2016.

This year's recipients included Professor Robert Winston who was recognised for his pioneering work on IVF, and alumnus John Hudson OBE who was honoured for his contributions to Birmingham businesses. Staff, students and members of the public are all welcome to make nominations.

Honorary Doctorates of the University are awarded to individuals who have provided an exceptional service to Birmingham, have made outstanding contributions to public or professional life and command national/international recognition in their field or have made an outstanding contribution to the work or interests of the University.

Other honorary graduates of the University include Jonnie Irwin, Jeremy Sams, Frank Skinner, and Julie Walters.

All nominations should be submitted by Monday 15 December 2014. If you have any queries regarding the nomination process please contact the University Secretariat on Extension 6599 or 6570.
