One of the world’s most famous actresses has been snapped wearing a dress designed by a Birmingham City University graduate.

Helena Bonham-Carter, best known for roles in films like Harry Potter and The King’s Speech, selected designs by fashion graduate Rosie Dennington, for a photo shoot with legendary photographer Mario Testino.

Rosie, who designs under the name Rosie Red, graduated with a degree in Fashion Design from Birmingham City University, said: "I got an email saying that Helena had seen my designs and really liked them and wanted to see more. When I got there I assumed it would just be her PA, but Helena was there too!"

Rosie added: "It's like a dream coming true. It is so surreal. People say you should never meet your idols, but she was just so lovely and supportive.”

The dress design, titled 'Bird Cage', has a triple-layer skirt embroidered with petals combined with a 22-panel corset. The pictures appeared in the September edition of Vanity Fair as part of a “best dressed” spread.
