Birmingham City University design, textile and interior students have been working with international trends prediction agency Global Colour ResearchTM- Mix Publications on encapsulating flamboyant interior concepts with wallpapers, textiles, interior solutions in response to their Spring/Summer 2011 trends for this year's Interiors Birmingham exhibition at the NEC.
Interiors is the UK's biggest event for the interiors industry and runs from 24th - 27th January 2010. Fresh, young, design talents from Birmingham City University will open your eyes to the next generation of interior design and vision with an inspiring installation.
The project will unleash the ideas of 120 students with the support of 10 industry engaged academics within the ‘Thinking Space' in Hall 2, a key feature area at interiors this year.
The four trends, entitled Whisper, Spirit, Genteel and Risk will be conceptualised by MA Interior Design Students and produced by BA (Hons) Lighting and Textile students under the leadership of curator and designer Stefan Bench and exhibition specialist John Hall.
Trends 2010 is part of a long term strategic partnership between Birmingham City University, UBM Live, Tektura and Global Color ResearchTM Mix Publications. It highlights the huge potential of industry and education collaborating together to deliver innovative, dynamic solutions in a very cost effective way.
