Two students from a Canadian university are experiencing life at Birmingham City University as part of a four-month exchange scheme.

Simon-Jacques Leclerc and Thomas Daoust have joined Birmingham School of the Built Environment, part of Birmingham City University, to study four modules as part of the University’s exchange scheme for the Construction Management course.

Simon-Jacques and Thomas have been studying at ETS University in Montreal, Canada, who offer a range of engineering courses, geared to the requirements of industry. Thomas said: “I am always looking for new adventures and experiences. I love discovering new cultures and new places.

“From an academic point of view, Birmingham City University has very interesting courses that would complement and augment my training.”

Angela Kilby, Course Director of the Construction Management course at Birmingham City University, said: “This is the first of many exchange programmes for Birmingham School of the Built Environment. Our students also have the potential to study in Auburn in Alabama and in Montreal with a translator for construction management classes led in French.

“We’re extremely pleased to welcome Simon and Thomas, they have settled into UK student life extremely well and are even proving to be a great success in playing Rugby with the BCU Rugby team!”
