Staff from the University have joined forces with Birmingham City Students' Union to launch a new project to reward and recognise the University's best staff and students.
The Extra Mile Awards is an opportunity for staff and students to nominate someone for one of the University's most prestigious honours.
Following the success of last year's awards ceremonies, the University and Students' Union have teamed up to launch an awards event involving every part of the University.
The finalists in each category will be recognised by the Vice-Chancellor and Students' Union President at a major awards ceremony in spring 2014.
Each nomination received will also be entered into a prize draw to win a new Apple iPad and a pair of tickets to the awards ceremony. Nominations are set to close on Saturday 15 March 2014.
Professor Cliff Allan, Vice-Chancellor, said: "The University has achieved a great deal in recent years, but none of this would have been possible without the hard work and determination of our staff and students.
"My message to staff and students is that anyone can win an Extra Mile Award, it doesn't matter if your work is high profile or not. If you know an excellent student or member of staff, please take the time to make a nomination, it only takes a couple of minutes."
