Over 3,000 people have experienced the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BIAD) annual Graduate Shows, showcasing the very best student work in Architecture, Art, Fashion, Textiles, 3D Design, Jewellery and Visual Communication.

Running from 10-16 June at venues across Birmingham, the occasion also marked BIAD's move from Birmingham City University's Gosta Green campus to its new £62m Parkside Building home in the City's Eastside.

Speaking to gathered crowds about the next stages of the University's evolution, Chris O'Neil, Executive Dean of BIAD, said: "The new Parkside Building is probably the most significant investment in an Arts school anywhere in the world.

"BIAD began as a drawing class in Birmingham in 1822 and we're about to move into a new facility that will embody the ideals of practise-based education and last us well into the next 100 years."

Members of the public and prospective students got their first look at the new Parkside Building during the University's latest Open Day on 15 June, ahead of the campus' opening in September 2013.
