Drama and dance courses at Birmingham School of Acting, part of Birmingham City University, have been ranked 7 in the UK in the Guardian’s University Guide for 2015.

For prospective students unsure of which subject to study and at which university, league tables revealed by the Guardian on Tuesday 3 June allow them to see where institutions rank in relation to one another and for specific courses of study.

The Guardian University Guide for 2015 places Birmingham School of Acting 7 in the UK within the classification of drama and dance, a climb of one place from last year’s position of 8.

The league tables are based on data collected by Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) and the National Student Survey.

The table illustrates the School received a very high score for student satisfaction with 89% of those questioned stating that they were happy with their course and 92% stating that they were pleased with the teaching they received.

Head of Birmingham School of Acting, Stephen Simms, said: “It’s fantastic to see the work at Birmingham School of Acting recognised by our position in the Guardian league tables. I hope it encourages more of the industry to catch up with our great new graduates from the School.”
