Cellists of all ages are to gather at Birmingham Conservatoire's annual Cello Day later this month for a day of string-filled workshops, performances and masterclasses.
The day will include sessions led by newly appointed International Chair in Cello Alexander Baillie, Lionel Handy, Catherine Ardagh-Walter, Eduardo Vassallo, Jane Salmon, Ulrich Heinen and Mikhail Nemtsov, all cello tutors at Birmingham Conservatoire.
From music students to hobbyists and amateurs, cellists of all levels are welcome to attend the free event on Sunday 27 October for an inspirational day of performing, teaching and chatting cello.
Louise Lansdown, Head of Strings at Birmingham Conservatoire, part of Birmingham City University, said: "We are thrilled to be able to showcase our inspirational cello tutorial staff and of course students.
"There are two cello ensembles run throughout the year at the Conservatoire and both will be playing an important role on the day. This day is for everyone who loves the cello - and there is something on offer for all ages, levels and interests."
Cello Day runs from 10.00am until 6.15pm and visitors are encouraged to register in advance.
