In light of the Paradise Circus redevelopment, Birmingham City University can confirm that it has withdrawn its objection to the Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) of Birmingham Conservatoire by Birmingham City Council, which it sought to acquire as part of its redevelopment plans for Paradise Circus.
Over the past few months the University has been in close negotiation with Birmingham City Council to reach an appropriate agreement and is delighted that a solution has been found.
If the CPO is confirmed, the Birmingham Conservatoire will move to a new purpose built building by summer 2017; and will continue to provide world-class music education facilities for current and future students. The CPO Inspector is expected to make her decision in Spring 2014.
More details on the University's specific plans will be announced in the near future.
