The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) and Creative Networks are to hold a free directing masterclass at Birmingham City University on Thursday 27 September.
The event forms part of BAFTA’s UK-wide learning programme, giving audiences across the country access behind the screens of the film, TV and video games industries.
Leading the masterclass will be David Clews who was awarded a prestigious BAFTA Television Craft Award for his work directing the ob-doc series ‘Educating Essex’ for Twofour, an award winning factual, features and entertainment television producer and digital agency, with offices in the UK, US and Abu Dhabi.
The ground-breaking production included a fixed rig of 65 cameras to show what really happens behind the school gates. David is also Twofour’s Head of Documentaries, overseeing the company’s output for major UK and international broadcasters.
Hosts of the event, Creative Networks, provide a space for innovators to meet, share ideas and shape the future. As well as delivering valuable insights into technology trends and developments, Creative Networks bring together parties involved in screen-based and sound based media in the West Midlands, promoting both successful business development and collaboration.
The event runs from 5.45pm until 8:45pm at the University’s Millennium Point campus. To book your place email creative.networks@bcu.ac.uk, call 0121 331 5400, or register online at www.creativenetworksonline.com.
