Birmingham City University and Creative Networks are hosting a free event this month with multi-award winning animator, Drew Roper.

Hailing from Walsall, Drew’s industry experience includes work on small budget films and TV series, as well as projects on Hollywood blockbusters including Fantastic Mr Fox (2009) and Disney’s Frankenweenie (2012), directed by Tim Burton.

Drew will be discussing his career as a stop-motion animator at the event on Thursday 24 April, as well as providing an insight into the work he’s involved with at his own animation studio in Birmingham’s Custard Factory - Yamination Studios.

The studio specialises in set building and model making, which has seen Drew work on short films and TV advertisements for brands including Coca-Cola, Cravendale and Sky Arts.

Hosts of the event, Creative Networks, provide a space for innovators to meet, share ideas and shape the future. As well as delivering valuable insights into technology trends and developments, Creative Networks bring together parties involved in screen-based and sound based media in the West Midlands, promoting both successful business development and collaboration.

The event runs from 5.45pm until 8:45pm at Birmingham City University's City Centre Campus. For more information and to book your place, visit Creative Networks' website.

The event follows the Birmingham Music Network and the Birmingham Screen Image Network, taking place from 4pm until 5.30pm.
