Students at Birmingham City University are celebrating after securing funding for a project that aims to bring together Birmingham’s creative community.

Hannah Durham and Amy McArthur, both students at Birmingham City University’s School of Media, received £300 from O2 Think Big which offers funding, training and support to empower young people who want to make changes to their communities.

Hannah and Amy’s ‘Sundae Promotions’ project has seen the duo set up a creative live events project management team, seeking to challenge the perception of unsigned music by holding a live community music event in Birmingham on Sunday 21 April.

Hannah said: “I’m so happy we secured the funding for the project, especially from such a reputable business as O2. Sundae Promotions is working with music colleges in Birmingham as we are passionate about supporting emerging local talent and offering much needed opportunities to gain industry experience and enrich Birmingham’s local music scene.”
