Students benefit from exciting new learning lab

Our students are now benefiting from a newly-opened Learning Lab, complete with state-of-the-art computers and equipment, which allows them to take part in interactive group study sessions during classes.

The official opening of the new learning space was hosted by the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Cliff Allan, and well attended by staff and students. Students were able to test the new software, which includes e-learning resources such as Shareville – a virtual city where real-life scenarios in the workplace can be played out by students.

Karen McGrath, a Programme Director for PGCE said: “The learning lab is providing a platform for the development, showcasing and sharing of innovative practice, which has the power to transform and inspire learning. As a learning space it facilitates collaborative learning in a contemporary setting, so meeting the expectations of many of today’s learners.”
