Alumni of the Year Jimmy Ogunshakin gains new role with Nehemiah Housing Association

One of the School of Law’s Alumni of the Year, Jimmy Ogunshakin, has just been appointed as the new chair of the Midlands Housing Association, Nehemiah UCHA.

Jimmy, who was recognised by the School of Law for the success of his law firm Mayflower Solicitors, has been a board member since 2003, when he joined the board of the United Churches Housing Association prior to its merger with Nehemiah Housing Association in 2007. He previously held the role of Chair of the Human Resources and Equalities Committee.

Nehemiah UCHA look to provide and develop high quality housing and services for the Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) communities of the West Midlands. They now have 1,100 homes across Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell and Walsall

Speaking about his new role, Jimmy said

Jimmy is also Chair of the Solicitors’ Sole Practitioners Group for Birmingham and the West Midlands, and a visiting lecturer here at Birmingham City University.
