A sporting chance for the environment

University News Last updated 15 July 2010

We are partnering the Energy Efficient Motor-Sport programme for developmental resources for diesel and hybrid power-trains, bio-fuels, plus the promotion of sustainable product design. Through the programme, we gain direct motor-sport involvement in collaboration with Walker-Adams (WA) Karting, specifically through WA’s modular prototype with easy-access space-frame. We are assisting WA to explore diesel, electric and hybrid power-trains, with two-seater city-buggies possible. A new course, BSc (Hons) in Motorsport Technology, focuses on both racing and environmental aspects of automotive engineering. With this brand-new course came the launch of our University Motorsport Society, which was started with WA’s help.
