Birmingham City University will unveil the key to business happiness at a public event next month.
‘How Tickled I Am’ is being held at the University’s City Centre campus at Millennium Point on Wednesday 12 June. In conjunction with The Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) the event will explore the role that happiness plays in the performance of businesses, featuring presentations and discussions on the impact of staff wellbeing and the approaches that leading organisations are taking to create happier, higher-performing teams.
Speaking at the event will be Vanessa King, a Psychology Adviser for the Action for Happiness charity with a philosophy around helping people and organisations to flourish.
Peter Carroll, event organiser and Senior Lecturer at Birmingham City University’s Faculty of Technology, Engineering and the Environment, said: “None of us would be at work today or any other day if we didn’t get paid. Professor Layard of the London School of Economics insists that employers neglect the happiness and wellbeing of their workforce at their peril.
“At this event, come and find out how performance can be improved by considering what really motivates us in our everyday toils.”
Also speaking at the event will be Ian McKay, a quality consultant focusing on business competency.
The event runs from 3pm until 7.30pm at Birmingham City University’s City Centre Campus at Millennium Point on Wednesday 12 June. To book your free place, email Peter Carroll.
