Birmingham City University launch the UK’s first dedicated Knowledge Based Engineering lab this week – state of the art facilities that will help support world-leading developments at blue-chip organisations including Rolls-Royce.
KBE sees greater application of computer intelligence in the design process, in which smart technologies take over from the human designer to create concepts that have the potential to meet a variety of challenges and business needs.
KBE is an innovative method for design automation, capturing best practice in product design and procedures, allowing businesses to model engineering processes for rapid product development.
The event run by the University’s Faculty of Technology, Engineering and the Environment on Thursday 6 December will include discussions on recent KBE developments and its main benefits to industry, led by leading industrial speakers from organisations including Rolls-Royce, Aker Solutions and TechnoSoft Inc. Birmingham City University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Cliff Allan, will be opening the event.
The free event runs from 9.30am until 4.30pm at the University’s Millennium Point campus on Thursday 6 December. For more information, visit the launch event page.
