Study a PGCE Event
Come along to our PGCE events to speak with academic staff about postgraduate teacher training courses. Whether it’s a career in primary, secondary or post-compulsory education that you’re interested in, our staff will be on hand to answer any queries you may have.
You can train as a teacher at a variety of levels in a range of specialist areas. In fact for PGCE Post-Compulsory Education and Training, you can have any undergraduate degree and we’ll match you to the most appropriate route so you can make an application.
Who should attend?
- Anyone interested in training in teaching in September 2019, whether that’s immediately after you complete your undergraduate degree or if you’re considering a change of career.
- Current Birmingham City University students from any discipline who have an interest in education or teacher training. Many degrees provide the skills and experience you need to teach, particularly at Post-Compulsory Education and Training level. We also offer Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) courses in a range of areas.
- Anyone who has made an application or has an offer to start an Education or Teacher Training course with us in September 2019 – you’re more than welcome to drop in to ask any questions you may have surrounding the course.
Why you should attend:
There will be one to one conversations you can have with academic staff who can help you choose the course that is right for you and ask any question you may have about placements, modules, course delivery and more.
You’ll also be able to see for yourself the fantastic new learning facilities and resources, part of our £41 million expansion of our City South Campus.
